Evi Heinen received her BFA in Painting from the Kansas City Art Institute, for which she received the Wilbur Niewald Award, and the KCAI Trustee and Margaret Converse Scholarships. she has exhibited at various galleries including vulpes bastille (kansas city, mo), the interurban arthouse (overland park, ks), the backyard gallery (cedar falls, ia) and the waiting room (kansas city, mo).

Her work explores the intersection of landscape and abstraction, spanning the mediums of writing, painting, sewing, and knitting. her most recent body of work was completed on a vintage brother knitting machine, featuring landscape imagery, patterns adapted from tile flooring and weaving patterns, in combination with literary fragments.
